Belvedere College, Dublin 1
Belvedere College is Belvedere House, a mansion completed in 1786 for George Augustus Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere. It sold in 1841 to the Jesuits who have used it a primary and secondary school ever since. James Joyce attended Belvedere College from 1893 until 1898.

Belvedere was founded in 1832. The school currently has almost 1000
pupils enrolled and has a number of famous alumni in the world of the

George Augustus Rochfort (1738-1814), who became the Second Earl of
Belvedere in 1774, built Belvedere House. The interior decoration of
Belvedere House was carried out by Michael Stapleton, a leading stucco
craftsman of his time
