Provost's House, Dublin 2
The Provost's House is a 5 bay two storey house with seven bay single storey wings, which dates from the 1759 and was built for Provost Francis Andrews of Trinity College.
The designer is unknown, and even though the house is a 5 bay two storey house with seven bay single storey wings, it is the inside which makes it one of the most important buildings in Dublin - it is one of the most elaborately decorated houses of its period.
The Provost is the head of Trinity College. Originally the position was held until death with the next incumbent being elected by the fellows of the college. In the past many Provosts assumed prominence in the affairs of the city outside of the college's walls.

Over the past 10 years I spend an average of 190 nights per annum in hotels throughout Europe and the USA, and the Trinity is my favourite hotel of all! The friendly staff and the accommodation make for an enjoyable stay.
Really nice hotel, staff very helpful. Bed very comfy and rooms nice and warm, would recommend it to all.
