LIL WAYNE
FRIDAY 8TH MARCH 2013
The wait is finally over. Multi Grammy winning, multiplatinum hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne has confirmed his first Irish appearance at The O2 Dublin on Friday 8th March 2013.
You can’t compare any other artist out there to me,” the charismatic Lil Wayne rightfully declares. “They are them, I am me. Nobody can do what I can. I am the best at what I do and that’s everything.”
Arguably the most original, genre-redefining, prodigiously talented and best-selling hip-hop artist of the past decade, Lil Wayne is celebrated for his electric stage show and energetic live performances. In 2011, Lil Wayne lodged one of the top ten most successful tours of the year with his “I Am Still Music” tour, which grossed $47 million with performances across three continents: North America, Africa and Australia. This forthcoming tour marks Wayne’s first time performing in Europe since 2009.
Lil Wayne is set to release his heavily anticipated tenth studio album, I Am Not A Human Being 2, in early 2013. The first single, “No Worries” featuring Detail, is available now on digital retailers and has impacted radio. Wayne’s most recent album, Tha Carter IV (Cash Money Records), released in August 2011, was the highest-selling hip-hop album of the year. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, selling over 964,000 copies in its first week, making it the second highest week one sales of 2011, second only to Lady Gaga's Born This Way.
In September 2012 it was announced that Lil Wayne overthrew Elvis's record, when Lil Wayne secured 109 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, beating the 108 posted by the late Elvis Presley between 1958 and 2003.
Support on this tour comes from Mac Miller. The rapidly rising star has gone from being a local sensation in his native Pittsburgh to selling out venues all across the United States and Europe. A multi-talented musician who can play numerous instruments and a young novice of the freestyle/cipher/battle circuit of his hometown, he was inspired by artists such as The Beastie Boys, Outkast and Big L to develop his own art of rhyme and to deliver his jaw dropping freestyles. In November 2011, Mac became the first independent artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard album charts since 1995 with his Blue Slide Park project. He is currently preparing his sophomore release Watching Movies With The Sound Off which will be released in 2013

Over the past 10 years I spend an average of 190 nights per annum in hotels throughout Europe and the USA, and the Trinity is my favourite hotel of all! The friendly staff and the accommodation make for an enjoyable stay.
