Sean Walsh Park, Tallaght

The Sean Walsh Park has been open since 1989, and is a vital local amenity for the tallaght community since its opening. Sean Walsh Park is the St. Stephen's Green of Tallaght.
An oasis at the heart of a densely-populated urban area, the park provides a landscaped parkland and recreation area for residents and visitors. The Dublin mountains form a gentle backdrop to this neighbourhood park which overlooks The Square.
Ornamental formal gardens lie side by side with attractive water features such as ponds and waterfalls: extensive tree planting allows shaded areas for relaxation, while playing pitches lie close to the local community school.
The park adjoins Old Bawn Road and provides a means of crossing to The Square via a footbridge. Pedestrian paths around the ponds allow for a pleasant walks and passive recreation and this area is ideal for summer picnics. It will also house a stadium for Shamrock Rovers F.C. and St James Gate F.C.
This park is a wonderful amenity that is going from strength to strength with the recent development of the Garden for All Seasons, the continued improvement in the parks general accessibility, the upgrading of the lake and surrounds, the adjoining Tallaght Stadium and the newly constructed playground.

As part of the original development of the park, Whitestown stream was realigned to provide a series of lakes and waterfalls creating an idyllic moated island, the location of the new playground.

Over the past 10 years I spend an average of 190 nights per annum in hotels throughout Europe and the USA, and the Trinity is my favourite hotel of all! The friendly staff and the accommodation make for an enjoyable stay.
