Bernard Shaw Birthplace

33 Synge Street , Dublin 8

The first home of the Shaw family and the renowned playwright has been restored to its Victorian elegance and charm. The George Bernard Shaw Birthplace is as much a celebration of Victorian Dublin domestic life as of the early years of one of Dublin's Nobel Prize winners for literature.

The house was opened to the public in 1993, and it was then that Shaw began to gather the store of characters who would later populate his books.
This charming residence is a wonderful insight into the everyday life of Victorian Dublin.

Over the past 10 years I spend an average of 190 nights per annum in hotels throughout Europe and the USA, and the Trinity is my favourite hotel of all! The friendly staff and the accommodation make for an enjoyable stay.
