5th-7th April 2013
Since its inception in Dublin in 2009, OFFSET has become one of the world’s most important creative events, each year hosting 24 of the most inspirational speakers here at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
It returns this year with its strongest line up to date, and will host a weekend of presentations, interviews, panel discussions and debates live on stage, with the very best of Irish and International designers, animators, illustrators, advertisers, artists, photographers and more. They will speak about their work, their ideas and inspirations and give insight into their practices and personal perspectives on their own careers over the course of three inspiring days from Friday April 5th – Sunday April 7th.
Each year OFFSET attracts visitors from across the globe to attend the 3-day conference and last year delegates made their creative pilgrimage from the UK, Europe, USA, Asia and as far as Australia. There are no VIP areas, and no green rooms at OFFSET, the space is a democratic one facilitating both speakers and attendees and allowing both to mingle freely and settle in for three days of inspiration. The intimate surroundings of the Second Room allows visitors to get a little closer to some of the legendary speakers, who will give interviews, contribute to debates and take part in group discussions on the topics that are at the heart of the creative agenda.
This years line up includes many Legends of the creative industry, including Oliviero Toscani who is best know for his controversial ad campaigns for Benetton, which confronted the challenging subject matter of the AIDS epidemic, racism and the death penalty. From the digital creative world OFFSET has invited Iain Tait, currently the Creative Director of Google Labs and Ji Lee, artist and designer who also happens to work as creative director of Facebook. The contingent of Irish talent includes London based visual artist and filmmaker Eoghan Kidney and Gavin O’Sullivan, creative director of award winning Dublin ad agency DDFH&B. There are also some heavyweight graphic design talents included in the line-up this year with Vaughan Oliver, Ben Boss and Bob Gill representing the field. OFFSET is also delighted to announce that artist, photographer and TED prize winner JR, best know for his large scale photographic projects in the favelas Rio, will be attending the 3 day conference.
The Irish creative team behind OFFSET is designer Richard Seabrooke, artist and designer Peter O’Dwyer and illustrator Bren Byrne.

Over the past 10 years I spend an average of 190 nights per annum in hotels throughout Europe and the USA, and the Trinity is my favourite hotel of all! The friendly staff and the accommodation make for an enjoyable stay.
